Akari-Adamson takes on lowly Batangas-EAC

Akari-Adamson seeks to enhance its playoff bid with another victory Tuesday in the 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Coming off a huge 100-89 victory over AMA Online Education on Monday, the Falcons go for win number six against lowly Batangas-EAC at 11 a.m. to stay on track for a quarterfinal berth.

At 5-2, Akari-Adamson is just right where coach Franz Pumaren wants his wards to be as he continues to find the right combination that suits their game.

"We're still groping for form, but we're slowly seeing the players which we know we can rely on," he said.

Pumaren, as he often does, will once again count on Jerrick Ahanmisi, whom he chosen to be the team's go-to guy.

"He's too nice. He needs to be more swapang," the coach remarked.

Ahanmisi gave everyone a glimpse of his potential in his 26-point outing the last time out, including a 7-of-8 shooting from downtown.

"I just got to embrace it," Ahanmisi said of being the team's take charge guy. "Our team is young, we got some new guys coming in, but we got some vets also. We just got to mold and learn from each other."

Meanwhile, Batangas-EAC are seeking redemption after falling anew last Thursday, this time a 95-106 defeat at the hands of Go for Gold.

Coach Ariel Sison would want nothing more but to taste victory once again and complicate the playoff picture as he expects big games from former Falcon Jerome Garcia and veterans Cedric de Joya and Cedric Ablaza.
