CEU looks to stretch win streak to 3 games

League-leader Centro Escolar University aims to nail a third straight win when it meets AMA Online Education on Thursday in the 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Scorpions narrowly defeated JRU, 77-75, last Monday, that draw concern from coach Yong Garcia.

"Complacency talaga ang problema namin eh. Galing sa magandang game sa Akari, ito na naman kami. We started out flat kaya medyo nawawala kami sa sistema namin," he said.

Garcia reminded his troops to treat their opponents with respect and focus on their goal.

"Walang malakas o mahina na kalaban para sa amin. Ang importante is our system, kung paano namin ibibigay yung best effort namin," he added, as the Scorpions look to rise from its 5-1 card.

Noticeably, AMA, has been showing signs of maturity lately.
Despite its 89-100 defeat to Akari-Adamson last Monday, which sent its record down to 1-5, it remains as a dangerous foe for anyone aspiring to make a run for the quarterfinals.

A big reason for that is the emergence of Robbie Manalang, who has been leading the Titans in scoring with 26.0 points per game.

"I'm a competitor. Every time I step on the court, whoever I play, I try to bring my best game," Manalng said.
