CEU tries to keep winning streak going

It will be offense versus defense on Tuesday when Centro Escolar University faces off against Perpetual in the 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

The Scorpions, the league's second-best in scoring team with a 94.29 average per game, aim to extend their three-game winning run and galvanize their hold of first place.

For coach Yong Garcia, the 12 noon encounter is another chance for CEU to sharpen its game and stay in top form.

The Scorpions toppled AMA, 118-83, last Thursday to cement its place in the playoffs with its 6-1 card.

"Lagi kaming excited, hindi lang against Perpetual. Yun yung sinasabi ko sa mga bata, na dapat maging excited tayo," he said. "We're treating every game as a knockout game kaya alam nila yung importance ng bawat laro," Garcia said.

Garcia is counting on Rod Ebondo along with Judel Fuentes and Joseph Manlangit to keep CEU's streak going.

It won't be a walk in the park, though, considering Perpetual ranks third-best in points allowed with 79.5 points per contest.

The Altas are hell-bent to bounce back from an 83-88 defeat to Wangs Basketball-Letran last March 1.
