Coming off slim losses against different foes, Akari-Adamson and Go for Gold both eye bounce back wins when they clash on Tuesday in the 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup.
The presence of JK Casi?o, who will be making his debut to join forces with veterans J-Jay Alejandro and Jerwin Gaco is a welcome development for the Scratchers in the 4 p.m. tiff at the Pasig Sports Center.
Scratchers coach Charles Tiu said his team enters the game wearing the underdog tag, noting the Falcons and coach Franz Pumaren's wealth of experience.
"We are definitely the underdogs. Adamson is one of the best teams in college right now and they'll be a strong contender in the UAAP next season," Tiu claimed.
He's not exactly giving up the fight but acknowledge they need to play tenacious defense if they intend to beat the Falcons.
"If we are to have a chance in this game, we need to be able to defend and take care of the ball especially against their press," Tiu said.
Akari-Adamson is coming off a tough 76-83 defeat to Zark's Burger-Lyceum last Tuesday, and Pumaren is optimistic that he can draw more contributions from leaders Jerrick Ahanmisi, Sean Manganti, and Papi Sarr to get back on the winning track.
