Che'Lu Bar and Grill is looking forward to a return trip to the Finals and the Revellers hope things will work as planned when it faces Centro Escolar University in Game 2 of their semi-final showdown Thursday in the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
However, Scorpions acting coach Derrick Pumaren expects his side to "man up" following that loss, saying: "You know the playoffs is a man's game, right? So you gotta man up."
Revellers coach Stevenson Tiu wouldn't deny that advancing to the Finals is the first step in their redemption tour, and they won't allow anyone to stand on their way.
"Since day one na natalo kami last conference, that's our goal: not only to be in the Finals but to get the championship. Yun ang motivation namin," Tiu declared.
So far, his players have shown that hunger, with Jeff Viernes, Jessie Collado, and JayR Taganas leading the way for Che'Lu Bar and Grill.
The Revellers took Game 1 in dominant fashion,112-97, last Tuesday, and would love to replicate that in the 6 p.m. tiff.
"I told the boys we are playing in the playoffs and we cannot be happy and play the same way that we did in the eliminations," he said.
CEU will bank on its leaders Orlan Wamar, Pierce Chan, and Rich Guinitaran to churn out a better showing for the do-or-die game.
