Go for Gold aims to get back on the winning track when it opens its second round campaign against Batangas-EAC in the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Batangas-EAC is fresh from a 97-95 win over AMA last week and the 10-day break sure rejuvenated coach Oliver Bunyi's side.
The Scratchers lost their stranglehold of the top spot after suffering a tight 97-95 defeat to Che'Lu Bar and Grill last Tuesday and left coach Charles Tiu looking for answers.
Fortunately for them, they can have a quick turnaround in the 1 p.m. game.
Go for Gold will once again bank on leaders Gab Banal and Jai Reyes to pick itself up from the defeat.
But the Scratchers will be hard-pressed as they will be challenged by a confident Generals team.
He remains wary, though, as he hopes to see the fighting spirit of his side show in the game, especially against a veteran-laden foe.
"One thing na medyo alarming sa akin is when our players see that the opponents are seasoned, naninibago sila. But I'm still confident knowing that they have a fighting heart.
Hopefully, ma-gauge na namin ang sarili namin when facing better players," he said.
Cedric de Joya and Clark Derige will lead the fight for the Generals.
