Go for Gold hopes momentum shift will get them another win in Game 3

Go for Gold seeks to ride its wave of momentum when it takes on Che'Lu Bar and Grill in Game 3 of the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Finals Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Scratchers are coming in on a high after finally getting over the Revellers in Game 2 with a 105-81 blowout win last Tuesday.

And for the boys of coach Charles Tiu, that's exactly what they want to replicate in the 5p.m. game as they eye to snare the crucial third game and move a win away from the championship.

Gab Banal was nothing but stupendous in the game, going 7-of-8 from threes to pump 33 points and keep the Scratchers alive in the best-of-five series. As a team, Go for Gold knocked down 15 triples and went 51-percent from downtown.

Tiu, however, refused to acknowledge that his side has already got Che'Lu all figured out.

"I can't say we solved their puzzle until we beat them two more times," he said, wary of the bounce back the Revellers have in store for the Scratchers.

Jeff Viernes would be at the forefront of that rescue mission, as Che'Lu will once again look for its go-to scorer to kickstart its fightback.

But for coach Stevenson Tiu, the effort shouldn't be limited to Viernes alone, saying, "Kulang kami sa intensity at focus. Yun ang dapat naming ayusin sa Game 3."
