Ayo warns Tigers not to take Knights lightly

UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas looks to continue its immaculate run in the 2019 PBA D-League when it takes on Petron-Letran on Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Growling Tigers are coming off a three-week break after dispatching Go for Gold-CSB, 94-82 last March 19, and coach Aldin Ayo has done nothing but to keep his wards sharp during that extended break.

UST is unbeaten in four games in the Aspirants Group, but Tigers coach Aldin Ayo is not discounting the threat of Petron-Letran.

"Kilala ko itong Letran. Malakas na team din sila kaya kailangan talaga namin silang paghandaan," said the Sorsogon-born mentor as he braces to face his alma mater at 12 p.m.

Ayo will be counting on rookie sensation Mark Nonoy, along with fellow newcomers Rhenz Abando and Beninese forward Soulemane Chabi Yo in its bid to stay clean.

The Knights are indeed dangerous. They are motivated to bounce back after getting manhandled by Cignal-Ateneo, 83-64, last Thursday.

And Petron-Letran coach Bonnie Tan wants to see a lot more grit from his wards led by Alvin Pasaol, Jerrick Balanza, and Larry Muyang to improve on its 3-2 record.
