Cignal-Ateneo enters Game Four with eyes on title

CIGNAL-Ateneo goes for the for the kill when it battles Centro Escolar University in Game Four of the 2019 PBA D-League titular series on Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena.

The Blue Eagles hold a 2-1 advantage following a dominant 67-52 victory in Game Three Thursday last week. They lost Game Two, 77-74.

Notwithstanding Cigna-Ateneo's advantage, coach Sandy Arespacochaga warns his troops that the series is not yet over.

"We have to play each game and be present for each game. We can't look past every game and we have to make sure we do our job for the next game," said Arispacochaga.

Conference MVP Isaac Go, Ivorian center Ange Kouame, Thirdy Ravena, as well as Cignal-Ateneo's deep bench are determined to finish off the Scorpions and wrap up the series.

Despite their situation, CEU coach Derrick Pumaren said his team will show and give their usual best. He said he is happy of his troops has accomplished.

"Like what I said before, these boys are already champions in my eyes. Whatever happens, we're just going to go out and try to give a hell of a fight to Ateneo," he said.

Senegalese slotman Maodo Malick Diouf will lead the fight for the Scorpions and will be supported by Rich Guinitaran, Jerome Santos, and Franz Diaz.
