Go for Gold-CSB faces Che'Lu Bar and Grill in a rematch of last year's Foundation Cup title

GO for Gold-CSB and Che'Lu Bar and Grill aim to strengthen its positioning in the top four of the Aspirants Group when they collide Monday in the 2019 PBA D-League at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

The 3 o'clock encounter will be a rematch of the 2018 Foundation Cup Finals, although this time, both teams are parading a new set of players.

The Scratchers (2-3) appeared to have regained their form after struggling early in the tournament. They are coming off 102-87 win over Batangas-EAC last April 4, but coach Charles Tiu remains unsatisfied with how his wards have held themselves through their first five games.

"We have to play the right way. We're gonna get killed if we play this way," the youthful mentor said as his side ranks second-worst in turnovers with 21.2 miscues per game.

It won't be easy, though, especially with the Revellers (3-1) drawing solid contributions from newcomers Sean Manganti, Rey Suerte, and Chris Dumapig.

The trio, together with holdovers Jessie Collado, Jay-R Taganas, and Foundation Cup MVP Jeff Viernes, were instrumental in Che'Lu's 109-99 win over McDavid back in March 25 as coach Stevenson Tiu guns to sustain the momentum from that game and make it three straight for his squad.

"Ang problem kasi with the schedule, ang haba ng break. Sana lang ma-carry namin sa susunod na game," he said.
