Metropac-San Beda expects tough battle against struggling SMDC-NU

METROPAC-San Beda aims to stretch its winning run to three games when it takes on hapless SMDC-NU in the 2019 PBA D-League on Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Movers have regained their deadly form since suffering their first loss and shares second place in the Foundation Group with a 4-1 (win-lost).

Metropac-San Beda is the league's top defensive team, limiting foes to just 66.2 points per outing.

Although the Bulldogs remain winless in four games, San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez maintains that SMDC-NU is a dangerous team and demands consistency from his troops.

"I know (SMDC-NU) has been losing, but knowing coach Jamike (Jarin), it will be a tough game for us," said Fernandez as he looks ahead to the 2 p.m. clash.

Things don't look encouraging for SMDC-NU at the moment as it continues to struggle to find its form. Their latest debacle came last March 21 against Diliman College-Gerry's Grill, 82-70.

Bulldogs coach Jamike Jarin believes he has done everything in his power to keep them competitive against San Beda and hopes Dave Ildefonso, John Lloyd Clemente, and Issa Gaye will respond well.
