Saints look to stay perfect at the end of eliminations

BRT Sumisip Basilan-St. Clare looks to maintain its perfect record in Group B in the 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup on Monday when it takes on Italiano's Homme at Paco Arena in Manila.

The Saints have already clinched the top seed in Group B with their 5-0 card that comes along with a twice-to-beat advantage, but what better way for them to head into the playoffs unbeaten.

And that means that BRT Sumisip-St. Clare isn't taking its foes lightly, even against the also-ran Italiano's Homme.

"Yun naman yung sinasabi namin sa players especially to the young ones, just play hard," said coach Stevenson Tiu, who will lean on Joshua Fontanilla, Junjie Hallare, and Malian big man Mohammad Pare.

The Saints are coming off a historic 161-122 trouncing of Black Mamba Energy Drink last September 2 where they set the most points scored in a PBA D-League game. Definitely they want to continue their winning ways in the 1:30 p.m. tiff.

But Italiano's Homme won't go down without a fight as it eyes to end its maiden campaign with a victory.

It hasn't been the best of rides for the newcomers as they suffered a four-game slump, the last two of which gave cellar-dwellers Alberei and McDavid-La Salle Araneta their first wins in the developmental league.

Italiano's Homme will bank on Francis Munsayac and Marlon Monte in the duel.
