SMDC-NU aims to end campaign with a splash

SMDC-NU seeks a strong finish in the 2019 PBA D-League when it takes on Perpetual Monday at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

The Bulldogs are riding on a three-game winning streak, the latest a 102-71 domination of Wangs Basketball last May 6.

Although their late spurt won't get them into the playoffs, coach Jamike Jarin wants his troops to make the most of their campaign in the developmental ranks.

"It doesn't matter how you start, but how you finish," he said. "It's always gonna be a learning experience for us and the competition will benefit the team in the long run."

Dave Ildefonso, John Lloyd Clemente, and Senegalese big man Issa Gaye are expected to lead the charge for SMDC-NU (3-5) in its bid to close out its elimination campaign on a high note.

But the same could be said for the Altas, with coach Frankie Lim still tinkering his tools in his continued buildup for the NCAA season.

"Hindi pa ito yung gusto kong makita sa mga bata. Marami pa kaming kailangang ayusin," he admitted after absorbing a 90-76 loss to Marinerong Pilipino last Tuesday.

Ben Adamos and Edgar Charcos will carry the baton for Perpetual in the 2 p.m. tiff.
