UST looks to stretch winning streak to four games

UNSCATHED University of Santo Tomas tries to stretch its winning run to four games when it meets Go for Gold-CSB on Tuesday in the 2019 PBA D-League at Paco Arena in Manila.

The Growling Tigers have been nothing but impressive in their campaign in the developmental ranks, reigning atop the Aspirants Group with their 3-0 card.

A testament was their 112-98 rout of Cignal-Ateneo last March 7 to underscore their presence as a force to reckon with.

But coach Aldin Ayo dismissed the suggestion.

"Ang mindset namin dito, ma-gauge kung saan na kami. (Ateneo) is still the best collegiate team dito sa atin so gusto lang namin na masukat lang," he said.

The Scratchers are aware of the challenge in front of them but hope their determination will spell the difference in their bid to improve on their 1-2 slate.

Go for Gold-CSB coach Charles Tiu admitted to being impressed by UST, which makes his job all the more tougher.

"They're a good team and it's gonna be a tough game for us," he said.

The Scratchers are coming off a 78-69 victory over Family Mart-Enderun last March 7 to end their dry spell.
