Bong Ramos keeps a positive outlook amid Blackwater's struggles

Bong Ramos knew the challenge that awaited him the moment he accepted the head coaching job in Blackwater.

Two games into his new endeavor and as expected, things haven't been too smooth-sailing for him as the Elite hardly resembled like what their moniker says, dropping to 0-5 and languishing at the cellar in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

The winless record, however, can't deter the veteran mentor in devising ways to win in the second conference.

"I won't give up. Every game, we'll give it our best effort and take it one game at a time," he said.

With only eight teams advancing to the playoffs, things sure are looking bleak at this point for Blackwater.

But Ramos is keeping his faith on his wards, especially with the leadership of import Jarrid Famous who has been averaging 29.4 points, 19.6 rebounds, 16 assists, and 1.6 blocks, as he is maintaining his trust on the process.

"As of now, syempre nasa transition pa rin kami. Unti-unti, pakonti-konti, nai-instill ko na rin naman ang sistema ko. Hindi naman madali yan. Hindi naman overnight yan. Proseso nga eh. Pero optimistic naman ako na makakakuha rin kami ng panalo," he said.

Regardless if the Elite does make a late run this conference, Ramos' bigger goal is priming this team for the future as his eyes are set on the big picture.

"Ang importante sa akin, mayroon akong nai-invest. Baka later, meron na rin tayong ma-withdraw," he said.(DL)
