CJ Perez remembers playing years with Pirates during visit at Lyceum

It was understandable for CJ Perez to be excited as the Columbian Dyip held their team practice at the Lyceum of the Philippines University in Manila on Monday

Perez played two seasons with the Lyceum Pirates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and was the team's star player.

He made his brief stint with the team memorable, leading the Pirates to back-to-back NCAA Finals appearance while being named season MVP in 2017.

"Sobrang saya ko na dito kami magpapa-practice ngayon. Bumalik yung memories ko nung naglalaro pa ako for the Pirates," Perez said.

"Masayang-masaya ako dahil maipapakita naming sa Lyceum community kung paano mag practice ang Columbian. I hope na ma-inspire namin yung mga players na nangangarap makalaro sa pba."

Columbian coach Johnedel Cardel said the PBA Campus Tour open team practice helps inspire and encourage collegiate ball players to work their way up.

"The best itong ginawa ni commissioner (Willie Marcial) na palawakin itong campus tour dahil sadyang napakalaking bagay nito para sa mga atleta natin sa unibersidad," Cardel said.
