Dyip resume campaign against unpredictable Road Warriors

NLEX and returning Terrafirma engage in a clash of teams aiming for a bounceback in the nightcap of the PBA Philippine Cup Sunday triple-header at the Ynares Sports Arena.

The 7 p.m. encounter, which marks the first three-game slate since the Season 46's opening weekend, pits two sides with contrasting loads of activities in the young tournament.

The Road Warriors have already seen action thrice since the league's July 16 kickoff but only have one win to show thus far.

They fell to the San Miguel Beermen, 93-110, in their most recent assignment last Friday.

For their part, the Dyip have played just once, losing to the TNT Tropang Giga, 79-86, last July 17.

The Terrafirma cagers haven't taken the court since then as the league postponed their next two assignments due to health and safety protocols.

The Dyip were placed in isolation after TNT players have returned "test results that were either positive or needs to be confirmed for COVID-19."

Terrafirma Dyip all tested negative during the league's regular RT-PCR testing last Monday. Followup tests on the team also yielded all negative results, thus clearing the way for the Dyip's return to action.

This will be a big test for the team that's on a journey post-CJ Perez.

With their former ace now with SMB, the Dyip are banking now on Aldrech Ramos, Rashawn McCarthy, Andreas Cahilig, and new players Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, Gelo Alolino, and top draft pick Joshua Munzon.
