YENG Guiao is not taking it easy even if Rain or Shine faces TNT next in the PBA Philippine Cup without its leading playmaker.
The veteran coach admitted facing a Tropang 5G in the Elasto Painters' game on Wednesday minus guard Rey Nambatac is certainly a big break for them especially after coming off a huge 119-105 win over previously unbeaten Magnolia Hotshots Sunday night at the Ynares Center II in Montalban.
But that doesn't mean, Rain or Shine will lower its guards down against the same team that earlier lost acknowledged leader Jayson Castro to a knee injury.
"You just have to be ready," said Guiao. "Kung matapat sa iyo, you get a break, pero kung matapat naman sa iyo yung injury, ikaw ang nagkaroon ng injury, kasama din talaga sa laro yun."
TNT will be going to its game against Rain or Shine currently on a three-game winning streak that evened its record at 3-3.

But it was in its last outing against Meralco when Nambatac went down with the groin injury that will have him sidelined for four to six weeks.
The Elasto Painters meanwhile, are on a two-game roll for a 4-2 slate, capped by that dominant victory against the Hotshots, who fell down to their first loss in seven games.
"It's a big break for us. Alam natin na wala na nga si Jayson, tapos ang ganda pa ng nilaro ni Rey sa championship (Commissioner's Cup), tapos ngayon nga may injury," said Guiao.
"Pero sa lahat ng teams nangyayari yan," added the Rain or Shine coach. "But it just evens out in the long term. It just evens out." (RG)
