High scoring favors NLEX in series with Magnolia

NLEX Road Warriors coach Yeng Guiao says his team needs to keep the score high to get a better chance of winning games in their semi-finals series against Magnolia.

Guiao pointed this out when asked in the post game interview if low scores will favor them.

"Ang mababang score will favor Magnolia", said Guiao, "Its just that we were able to keep up with their defense. They played good defense on us, we played good defense on them, naturally it's going to be a low scoring game."

Guiao admitted that going into Game one he knew that it's going to be a defensive match up so they really worked hard on their execution and the result was an 88-87 victory over Magnolia.

He said they also succeeded in controlling Paul Lee who scored just eight points in more than 26 minutes.

Guiao said Magnolia has the edge when it comes to playoff experience.

"They've been here for four straight times and this is our first time" said the NLEX mentor.

"The pressure is on them. Kami nag e-enjoy lang kami, w'ell just take it as far as we can take it", he added.(Zaldy Perez)
