Just call him Mr. Big Moment Guy

LA Tenorio can't believe when told that coach Tim Cone described him as 'a big moment guy' after Barangay Ginebra completed a sweep of Meralco in the quarterfinals duel on Wednesday to advance to the semi-finals of the PBA Commissioner's Cup.

"Talaga tinawag nya ako ng ganun ni coach? Wala akong masabi dun," offered Tenorio, who scored 11 points, five assists and two rebounds in thirty minutes.

Despite his low output, Tenorio made his presence felt. He knocked a huge 3-point shot, made a key steal and dished out an assist to Justin Brownlee for an emphatic dunk as Ginebra staved off a late rally by Meralco.

During the post-game interview, Cone was all praises for his star point guard .

"LA's 3, his steal and assist ... that's the game right there. It's LA being LA. A big moment guy. That was a big moment shot," said Cone.

In return, Tenorio thanked Cone for giving him the confidence to take those big shots especially if the game is on the line.

"Tinawag nya ako ng ganun, pero gusto ko ring ibalik sa kanya na he's giving me the opportunity to take those big shots. Yung confidence ko taking big shots dahil sa ibinibigay niya sa aking kumpiyansa. Malaking factor sa akin yun," Tenorio said.

Tenorio said it doesn't matter if a player scores 20, 30 or 50 points per game. What is important is how to help the team win games.

"Yun lang naman ang ginagawa ko sa Ginebra," said Tenorio.

"Getting steals, getting open shots and create situations."
