La Salle standout Andrei Caracut signifies intention to turn pro

LA SALLE guard Andrei Caracut, who was a member of the Archers 2017 UAAP champion squad, is joining this year's PBA Draft along with big men Jun Bonsubre and Tzady Range.

Their inclusion in the list of PBA aspirants added depth to an expected bumper crop of talented newcomers taking part in the annual event.

Caracut, Rangel and Bonsubre, accompanied by their agent, Charlie Dy, submitted their application at the PBA office on Thursday.

A cool and calculating guard, Caracut was a member of the Green Archers' champion team of the 2016-2017 season when the squad was still powered by Ben Mbala.

After his UAAP stint, Caracut joined Alab Pilipinas in the Asean Basketball League where he played alongside Rangel, a 6-foot-7 center.

Bonsubre, on the other hand, played in the MPBL for the Mandaluyong El Tigre and later on moved to the Zamboanga-Family's Brand Sardines.

The trio joined other notable aspirants namely Alvin Pasaol, Leonard Santillan and Troy Rike for the March 14 event that is expected to be loaded with potential PBA material.

Other players who have already enlisted include swingman Don Reverente from the Pasay Voyagers, 6-foot-7 center Ben Adamos, formerly from the Perpetual Help Altas, frontliners RR de Leon, Med Salim and Reymark Acu?o. So far, 40 aspirants have applied for the PBA Draft.

Aspiring PBA rookies have until January 27 to submit their application for the March 14 PBA Draft. (RJ)
