EVEN PBA coaches have to make the most of their sudden sabbatical.
In the case of Phoenix Super LPG coach Louie Alas, he said he has become the family's in-house chef after President Rodrigo Duterte declared the entire country under 'enhanced community quarantine.'
The affable mentor said he is taking the break in stride and has found his calling in the kitchen after being taken away from the basketball court.
"Early morning, namimili na ako para sa pagkain namin for the whole day. Chef ako dito sa bahay," he said.
Alas said is enjoying his new role.

And his specialty?
"Beef caldereta," he said with a laugh, adding he makes sure the dishes he prepares for his family are nutritious. "Mas madalas nga lang ngayon fish o chicken kasi puro athlete yung nandito sa bahay."
The game of basketball though remains a part of his daily life. Alas said he starts the by keeping himself fit and watches game clips when he's done cooking.
"Nanonood pa rin ako ng basketball videos, mostly PBA games na edited na ng assistant coaches ko," he said. (RL)
