Muyang, Malonzo, Manzo, Laput, Murrell submit applications for PBA Draft

Larry Muyang added his name to the long list of potential first-round pick among aspiring big men in the coming PBA Draft.

The 25-year-old, who helped the Letran Knights capture the NCAA Season 95 championship, submitted his application on Thursday.

Muyang, the 2018 NCAA Rookie of the Year, said his desire to give his family a better life motivates him to join the Draft set on March 14.

The 6-foot-5 bruiser also had stints with the Pampanga Delta in the National Basketball League. He also played with the Pampanga Giant Lanterns and the San Juan Knight-Go For Gold in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.

Other potential early picks who signified their intention to turn pro are Jun Manzo, Jamie Malonzo, James Laput, David Murrell, and Michael Jay Javelosa.

Manzo and Murrell both played for the University of the Philippines Maroons while 6-foot- 6 Jamie Malonzo and 6-foot-9 Laput played for the La Salle Green Archers.

A total of 67 aspirants have applied for the draft considered as a talent-rich class. The PBA Commissioner's Office has set a Jan 27 deadline for all applicants.
