No need to worry, June Mar and Stanley are fine

If you'e wondering if June Mar Fajardo and Stanley Pringle are okay after not seeing action in Gilas Pilipinas' 136-67 drubbing of Myanmar, fret not, coach Tim Cone said they just got a needed breather and should be good to go for the Southeast Asian Games semis against Indonesia on Monday.

"It's just that June Mar is really worn out. There's no injury at all," said Cone of Fajardo, who averaged 17.5 points and nine rebounds in the first two games of Gilas.

He said Fajardo deserved a break after his tour de force performance of 23 points and 12 rebounds in the team's 110-69 shellacking of tough Vietnam the night before they took on the Burmese.

"You saw June Mar's effort against Vietnam Friday night and we felt he needed a day of rest to we can get him ready for the semifinals," said Cone.

As for Pringle, Cone said the Fil-A guard has knee issues but nothing serious.

"Nothing major but he's been complaining about his knees a little but so we decided rto give him a little rest, get him ready for the semifinals," he said.

He expects a fully-focused full-strength Gilas to show up Monday against Rajko Toroman's Indonesia as they shoot for a place in the gold medal match.

"There's no injury involved, that was just coaches' decision not to play them (against Myanmar)," he said,

Not that Fajardo and Pringle were needed in the said David-versus-Goliath outing, anyway. (OL)
