Parks excited, feels he's PBA ready

THE waiting game is over, and for Bobby Ray Parks, he for himself knows that he's ready to take his act to the PBA.

The 25-year-old is expected to land in the top two of the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft this Sunday, and there's no question what the second-generation star can bring to the table.

"Throughout the years, I've been preparing playing in professional leagues and I think I'll fit in naman. I'm excited to see where I'm going, excited to see which team wants me, and excited to play at this level," he said.

Parks is no ordinary neophyte, mind you.

The son of seven-time PBA Best Import awardee has bid his time and did all he could to finetune his game, from his days in National University, to his travails in the NBA G-League and Gilas Pilipinas, to his latest with San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League.

Through that voyage, he also collected hardwares and MVP awards, even, paling him in comparison to the other aspirants in this pool.

However, Parks would be the first to know that gaudy resumes are, at the end of the day, still on paper and he has to prove himself capable once again in this new battlefield.

But rather than be pressured with the fanfare thrown his way, he'd rather stick to the things he know the best: play ball.

"Everybody else is doing a good job of pressuring you already and you don't have to add more pressure to yourself. At the end of the day, this is what I've been doing since I was young. So you just put in the work," he said, looking ahead to Sunday's draft process.

"I'm excited. It's a different milestone, for sure, and this is gonna be interesting."
