Parks signing a big booster for TnT moving forward

BOBBY Ray Parks signing with TnT Katropa comes like a breath of fresh air for the franchise.

Active consultant Mark Dickel welcomed Parks' return to the team as an 'awesome news,' following weeks of negotiations between the two parties.

"I'm just thrilled that he signed," said Dickel when asked about the contract impasse finally over for the Katropa and the talented incoming sophomore guard.

"That's great news for us."

Parks, the no. 2 overall pick during the 2018 draft, agreed to a one-year, max deal with TnT.

With the 26-year-old Fil-Am coming on board, the Katropa now focuses on their preparation for the coming PBA Philippine Cup.

Parks' presence again boosts the same TnT roster that made the playoffs of all three conferences last season, including a finals stint in the Commissioner's Cup.

Veteran point guard Jayson Castro, Troy Rosario, and Roger Pogoy remain as the Katropa's Big Three, with big man Poy Erram possibly coming on board should the three-team trade among TnT, Blackwater, and NLEX be approved.

"It's great to have that whole team in practice. It's good stuff," said Dickel, who is also interim coach of Gilas Pilipinas.

Parks averaged 18.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists during his rookie season which he spent with Blackwater and TnT. (RG)
