PBA launches campaign to help government in fight vs COVID-19

THE PBA has launched #PBAituloyanglaban in support of the government's fight against COVID- 19 and to get its 46th season off the ground.

League commissioner Willie Marcial said the advocacy aims to highlight the public's clamor for the league to return and, to inform and remind the public of its responsibility and duty as law abiding citizens to follow strict COVID-19 protocols and to slop the spread for the coronavirus.

"Inilunsad natin ang #PBAituloyanglaban upang bigyan diin ang kahalagahan ng pagsunod nating lahat sa mga safety protocols na ipinatutupad ng gobyerno. Ito lang ang paraan upang mapababa natin ang pagkalat ng coronavirus," explained Marcial.

The commissioner said coaches and players of the league's 12 member ballclubs has started using #PBAituloyanglaban in all their social media platforms in a solid display of support for the PBA and the government's effort against the pandemic.

Marcial admitted the league's 46th season can get started only if the COVID-19 infection has slowed down.

In the meantime, the PBA has written the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) seeking its approval to enable teams to start scrimmages by May 16.

"Hopefully, mapagbigyan tayo ng IATF sa ating kahilingan," Marcial said.
