PBA personalities enjoying the ride

WHILE bikes have become a popular mode of transportation in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is likewise becoming a favorite fitness workout among PBA players.

Blackwater's Mac Belo and coach Olsen Racela, Jio Jalalon of Magnolia, Columbian Dyip's Aldrech Ramos, Roger Pogoy of TnT Katropa, and Rain or Shine deputy Chris Gavina are some of the personalities who have been hooked up on biking lately to stay in shape as they await for team training to formally start.

Practicing safety protocols of wearing face mask and face shields, complemented with complete biking gear, some of them have been biking from short to long distance trips in order to keep fit.

Racela admitted part of the Elite's fitness regime these days is biking.

"Part ng conditioning kasi nila ngayon yung pagba-bike. Kaya nahihilig din ako," said the coach in the podcast Sports Locked & Loaded PH.

Belo said he recently added biking to his workout aside from the Zoom training the Elite do on a regular basis.

"Bike-bike lang ng kaunti para ma-maintain yung healthy lifestyle," Belo added.

All of them, however, always make sure to follow social distancing and pass thru designated bike lanes.

Some of the favorite biking hangouts of them include the Mall of Asia, Nuvali, Norzagaray, to as far as Montalban.

Eventually, once the PBA Commissioner's Office officially gives the green light for team workouts to begin, biking would have to take the backseat.
