TNT KaTropa turned this Independence Day setto to a three-point party -- a three-point bash in particular for RR Pogoy.
The Cebuano gunner fired 10-of-18 treys to highlight a career-high 38-point explosion as the KaTropa turned back the Barangay Ginebra Kings, 104-96, in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Wednesday.
"I felt good shooting the ball. Our import kept on finding me open, and I just kept on shooting," said Pogoy after establishing the most number of triples made by a TNT player.
Facing a constant double-teaming defense from the Ginebra defenders, Terrence Jones opted to be a facilitator and finished with triple-double numbers as the KaTropa scored a third straight win and caught up with the Blackwater Elite and the NorthPort Batang Pier in the lead at 5-1.
Jones collected 17 points, 14 rebounds and 16 assists, setting up most of Pogoy's three-point bombs as TNT dealt Ginebra a third loss against two wins.

Jayson Castro (17 points), Don Trollano (12) and Troy Rosario (11) also delivered double-digit outputs for the KaTropa who stretched their streak to three games.
It was a roller-coaster ride for the KaTropa who blew an early double-digit spread but recovered to pummel the Kings in the fourth quarter.
The Kings had their key surge as they pounded the few minutes sat out by Jones after a flagrant infraction in LA Tenorio in the third period.
Ginebra led by as many as 10 and closed the third frame with a 77-69 margin on a buzzer-beating trey by Joe Devance.
But the KaTropa refused to be disheartened.
