Ray Parks excited to show potential in Philippine Cup

RAY Parks knows well that the Philippine Cup is the battle ground where locals display their potentials and skills.

And that's the reason why he's ecstatic to suit up for TNT in coming 2020 PBA Philippine Cup and hopefully, help the KaTropa in their campaign.

"I think I still have a lot to prove," he said as he braces for his first taste of the all-local tourney.

Parks was not in the league yet when the all-Filipino Conference was played last year. Athe time he was still with San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).

His PBA stint gets rolling in the import-laden Commissioner's Cup but his debut with Blackwater turned out to be short-lived as the team eventually traded him to TNT midway through the Governors' Cup.

That all the more heightens his excitement for his debut in the all-Filipino tilt.

"I'm excited. It feels good to play with the local talent that we have. We have a lot of great talent in the PBA and I just want to showcase mine and have a better year than last year," the 27-year-old said.

With Parks in tow, TNT reached the semifinals in the third conference before bowing to eventual runner-up Meralco.

The son of seven-time Best Import Bobby Parks has high hopes that the KaTropa can exceed that finish and possibly win it all this year. TNT last won the Philippine Cup title in 2013.

"I wouldn't put that as an expectation, but we want to make it to the Finals," he said. "I know we're gonna give it our best and we'll prepare as hard as we could for it. We definitely have the talent, we just have to put it all together and we just got to maximize each other's strength." (RL)
