Seldom-used Caperal draws attention

For playing above average in Game 2 expect Ginebra coach Tim Cone to give Prince Caperal more playing time in today's Game 3 of their best-of-seven semi-finals playoffs against San Miguel Beer at the MOA.

Seldom used Caperal made his presence felt in Game 2 submitting a PBA personal best of 26 points - 17 in the first half, eight rebounds and three assists in more than 31 minutes.

"I respect Caperal with his effort. I think a new star is born," said SMB Coach Leo Austria during the post game interview.

Caperal was a dominant force for the Kings who managed to keep the lead until Arwind Santos tied the count at 95 to force the overtime.

"Kasi nga wala si Greg so kailangan naming mag-step up. Ginawa lamang namin ang trabaho namin at nagkataong pumapasok ang mga shots ko," said Caperal.

He said he's happy that he was able to help the team despite the fact that they lost in overtime.

"Kahit natalo kami at least nakita namin na may chance pala na manalo kami sa San Miguel," said Caperal.

"Buti na lang hindi Game 7 or do-or-die ang Game 2, so move on lang kami dahil may Game 3,Game 4 at Game 5 pa", added Caperal.

Caperal was also thankful with his teammates for their support.

"Nakita ng mga teammates ko na pumasok 'yung mga tira ko so ibinigay nila sa 'kin ang bola and all I have to do is shoot lang", he said.
