PASSI CITY - Team Red of Senator Bong Go and courtside reporter Apple David ruled the Shooting Stars competition of the PBA All-Star Weekend Sunday at the City of Passi Arena.
Also composed of Inquirer sportswriter Jonas Terrado and random fan Kobe Ordaniel, the team was the fastest to reach the half court station with still 23 seconds left in its shot clock after David hit a surprise, underhand shot from four-point area.
Team Red though, failed to convert from midcourt.
David came through with the clutch hit after Senator Go nailed it from three-point arc off a pass by Terrado.
Cash prizes and plaques were awarded to the winning teams.
Team White of former Letran player and now Passi City councilor Ramon Andrei Pantin and Cignal's Bea Escudeo earlier also made it at half court when Justin Bacnis sank it from four-point range with still 6.5 seconds to take a shot at midcourt.

Team Blue of courtside reporter Denise Tan, a former UST volleyball player, failed to sink it from four-point shot and didn't make it at half court. Other members of the team are Reuben Terrado ofSPIN.ph, and fan Christopher Magallon.
Earlier, Blackwater ruled the local 3x3 tournament organized by the league behind a 21-16 win over Terrafirma in the championship game.
