Terrence Romeo: Nothing to celebrate until San Miguel wins championship

As glad as he is that he's finally made it into the PBA's grandest stage for the first time in his pro career, Terrence Romeo insists he's not about to celebrate just yet.

"Hindi pa rin achievement yun," Romeo said on Monday at the 2019 Philippine Cup Finals press conference at Sambokojin in Eastwood City, Libis, Quezon City.

"Hindi dun natatapos ang preparation. Nagprepare kami the whole conference para makuha yung championship. Di siya enough na achievement para sakin," he pointed out.

"Kailangan makuha namin yung dapat namin makuha."

That's why he's so focused on helping the Beermen win a record fifth straight all-Filipino crown.

If that happens, it will be Romeo's first championship.

"Yun lang talaga yung pinaka-dream ko eh, magchampion sa PBA. Kasi wala nga akong championship simula college days ko, high school days," said the Far Eastern University product.

The 27-year-old even joked that he can call it a career once he wins a title.

"Kung makukuha namin yun, kahit papano nakuha ko na yung pinakakulang para sa'kin. I mean, kulang na award para sa sarili ko. Tapos yun, baka magretire na 'ko after," Romeo said. (JB)
