TnT KaTropa joins PSF in Mandaluyong relief program

THIS is what KaTropa is all about.

The TnT basketball team extended support to fire survivors in Mandaluyong area through the PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF) recently.

Coach Bong Ravena and active consultant Mark Dickel were joined by rookie Kib Montalbo, Jjay Alejandro, and Gryann Mendoza along with team manager Gabby Cui and assistant Miguel Fernandez in the latest outreach program of the PSF during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Katropa provided financial assistance to the victims, and then also joined in the distribution of hot meals and grocery packs to the families currently evacuated at the Nueve De Febrero Elementary School and other evacuation centers in Barangay Addition Hills in Mandaluyong.

"We hope that through this relief effort, we are able to bring some joy and comfort to the families whose lives are forever changed by this tragedy," said Cui, also PLDT-Smart assistant vice president.

Around 600 families were rendered homeless following the fire that swept through a residential area in Mandaluyong, affecting 200 houses in Correctional Road corner Nueve de Febrero in Barangay Adiition Hills.

"Our hearts are with the families affected by this tragedy. As they try to move forward with their lives amid the pandemic, we hope that our gesture enables them to cling to hope especially during this difficult time," said PSF President Esther Santos.

The PSF organized the relief activity in coordination with Mandaluyong Councilor Charisse Abalos-Vargas.

The activity was also done in partnership with Your 200 Pesos, an initiative that aims to feed families affected by the pandemic and led by volleyball star, TV personality, and beauty queen Michele Gumabao and strength and conditioning coach Aldo Panlilio.
