Tropang Giga torch Aces with 18 treys, close out elims at 10-1

THOUGH assured of top seeding in the playoffs, the TNT Tropang Giga were all business in their final game in the elimination round, rolling past the Alaska Milk Aces, 103-85, Saturday at the Don Honorio Ventura State U Gym.

No relax and no horsing around, the Tropang Giga pulled off a dominant win to close out the 46th PBA Philippine Cup elims with a runaway 10-1 win-loss card.

Playing a second game in two nights, the Aces couldn't keep up with the Tropang Giga and dropped to 3-5.

Alas, they will be back for a third straight game versus the Terrafirma Dyip Sunday.

RR Pogoy, Mikey Williams, Ryan Reyes, Jay Alejandro, Poy Erram and Kelly Williams rifled in at least two triples each as TNT displayed great shooting to enter the playoffs on a high note.

Pogoy dropped three treys and top scored with 18 points that went with four rebounds and two assists.

Mikey Williams also drained three triples and added seven boards and the same number of dole-outs while Reyes and Alejandro were two other TNT gunners who connected three hits from the arc.

The Tropang Giga sizzled with 18 three-pointers in all, two from Erram who collected a total of 17 markers plus eight rebounds and two assists.

For the second straight night, Abu Tratter paced the Aces with 12 markers going with nine rebounds.

The Tropang Giga buckled down to work early, taking the first quarter at 22-15 and the half at 49-37.
