Vic Manuel raises concern about Alaska's turnovers

Vic Manuel felt bad about the turnovers Alaska committed in its 92-79 loss to San Miguel in Game 1 of their PBA Commissioner's Cup semi-finals duel than his failure to extend his streak of 20-point games.

Manuel's run of 11 consecutive games in which he scored at least 20 points came to a halt on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena. He managed just 16 points on 7-of-20 shooting as the Aces play catch-up for most of the match.

"Siguro next game kailangan namin i-limit yung turnovers namin kasi yun yung naging problema namin lalo na nung start ng third," said Manuel.

Alaska turned the ball over 17 times, most of it coming in the second half when they tried to get back into the game.

"Parang sobrang dami ng naging turnovers namin. Hanggang pagpasok ng fourth, parang di kami magkaintindihan. Iga-grab na nga lang yung rebound, mawawala pa. Yun siguro naging problema namin," Manuel added.

The frontrunner for the Best Player of the Conference award also lauded San Miguel's defense for ending the longest 20-point streak in six years.

Gary David had a streak of 19 straight stretching all three conferences of the 2012 season.

"Yung San Miguel magagaling din dumipensa sa post. Ang lalaki din nila e, so talagang nahirapan din ako," he said, adding the need to have a good start in Game 2.

"Siguro next game papakita ko ulit. Pero hindi naman ako nalimit sa scoring, talagang masama yung start ko." (JT)
