Victolero's sportswear shop partners with PBA in making PPEs

ASIDE from coaching, Magnolia bench chieftain Chito Victolero is a young entrepreneur running a sportswear business in their hometown in Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

Under quarantine period amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Victolero has chosen to still be productive and helpful, shifting their operations to being a maker of medical suits and PPEs for health care workers, first responders and frontliners.

And their outfit comes in handy with the Philippine Basketball Association needing partners to make PPEs to be distributed to the league's chosen beneficiaries.

"Sa LGR at sa shop ni Chito Victolero kami nagpagawa ng PPEs," said PBA commissioner Willie Marcial as to their initial wave of donations.

"At may bago pa kaming order kay Chito for our second wave," added Marcial, the point man appointed by the PBA board of governors in their relief campaign they kicked off with an initial P1 million fund from the league coffers.

The league is not about to stop especially with sponsor Gillette and Barangay Ginebra player Stanley Pringle sharing cash donations of P500,000 and P150,000, respectively.

Victolero and his family are helping on their own.

"Sa family business namin, it's our small way of helping out. Tigil lahat ng negosyo ngayon kaya oras ng tumulong sa taong-bayan na naghihirap. Hangga't kaya namin makatulong, tutulong kami," said Victolero.

"Namimigay din kami ng PPEs sa mga kapit-bahay, kaibigan at community," added Victolero, sharing some blessings from his outfit which is among the favorites among PBA and school teams.
Past and present customers are Magnolia, San Miguel Beer, Alaska, TNT, La Salle, FEU, Marinero, Mapua, JRU, Arellano and San Sebastian.(B)
