Go for Gold aims for first round sweep

Go for Gold aims for a perfect first round when it takes on Che'Lu Bar and Grill Tuesday in the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Coming off a 12-day break, the Scratchers are eyeing to preserve their unbeaten run when they stake their 4-0 record in the 1 p.m. tiff.

The Scratchers have imposed their veteran presence in the past outings but coach Charles Tiu swears this game will be a lot different.

"They have a lot of veterans also and they're a very physical team. That should be a tough game for us," he said as leaders Gab Banal and Jai Reyes will have their hands full in the duel.

Tiu very well knows that the Revellers are no pushovers.

Since losing its opening day assignment, Che'Lu Bar and Grill has gone on to rack three straight wins, with the latest coming at the expense of Batangas-EAC, 78-57.

However, coach Stevenson Tiu believes that his side will remain as the underdog in the battle.

"Sila pa rin ang mas malakas, pero kailangan namin yung mga games na yun para ma-push kami to the limit. Kailangan talaga namin silang paghandaan," he said.

Jeff Viernes is tasked to lead the attack for the Revellers, together with Chris Bitoon and Jay-R Taganas.
