CENTRO Escolar University moved within a win of securing the top seed in the Foundation Group following its 116-72 blowout of Wang Basketball on Tuesday in the 2019 PBA D-League at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Tyron Chan poured 23 of his 32 points in the first half to get things going for the Scorpions. He also had 10 rebounds, five assists, and four steals for CEU, which opened the game with a 38-17 run.
Senegalese big man Maodo Malick Diouf was just as impressive with 20 points, 16 rebounds, eight assists, and five rejections.
Judel Fuentes contributed 16 points and five rebounds, as three other players scored in double-digits as CEU bounced back from 74-67 loss to SMDC-NU last week to improve to 7-1 (win-lost) record.

CEU was dominant through and through, taking a lead as high as 47 late, while also controlling the boards, 66-43, and scoring 24 points off Wangs' 18 turnovers.
The Couriers exited the contest with their fifth straight loss to end up at 3-6.
Daryl Singontiko, Rey de Mesa, and Julian Pallatao scored 12 points apiece in the defeat.
