PBA experience is nothing new to Basilan BRT Sumisip. It has competed in and won a PBA D-League tourney, and is set to vie in the inaugural PBA 3x3, taking the place of the Blackwater Bossing.
Five other PBA outsiders strut their stuff in the three-a-side halfcourt game, joining 10 PBA teams in the event which could take off ahead of the regular 5x5 in PBA Season 46.
"We're pushing for that to happen sooner than 5x5. We believe it's easier to start because of the fewer personnel involved," said PBA vice chairman Bobby Rosales, adding, though, that it also hinges on their vaccination plan.
Alaska Milk has begged off in the spirit of fairness, with Alaska official Dickie Bachmann on top of the PBA 3x3 program.
Blackwater, meanwhile, has sought the permission of the PBA board to be replaced by Basilan BRT Sumisip in the 3x3 event.
Five non-PBA entities in Zamboanga Valientes, Master Sardines, Geanaux Systems Corp., Boss Cement and Pioneer Epoxy are set to come on board.
The lineup of participants isn't yet finalized as the league awaits confirmation of another PBA non-regular. (SB)
