CALVIN Abueva won't be around for Magnolia's PBA Philippine Cup game against NLEX after being meted a one game suspension by the Commissioner's Office on Wednesday.
The decision came as a reprimand for Abueva's obscene gesture against a fan at ringside during the Manila Clasico game between Barangay Ginebra and Magnolia on Easter Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
On top of the suspension, the Magnolia forward was also slapped a P20,000 fine.
The suspension takes effect immediately as the Hotshots would be missing Abueva's service on Saturday opposite the Road Warriors at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Abueva was apologetic when he had an audience with Commissioner Willie Marcial prior to the decision. The 36-year-old San Sebastian College product vowed not to do the same act again.

"Kapag inulit niya pa yun, sabi ko dadagdagan ko yung suspension niya, dadagdagan ko yung fine niya. Sabi niya hindi na niya uulitin pa iyon," Marcial recalled of his conversation with 'The Beast.' (RG)
