After prolific rookie season, CJ shares blessings

IT'S CJ Perez's way of sharing the blessings basketball has given him.

The Columbian Dyip star, named 2019 Rookie of the Year and First Mythical Team member, didn't forget to repay back the sport that has been good to him and pledged to donate P25,000 to PBA game day employees who are heavily affected by the current season suspension due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Perez referred to the current pandemic situation as 'bigger than basketball' in a message he posted on his Instagram.

He joins Alaska team, coach Jeff Cariaso, Cliff Hodge of Meralco, and San Miguel's Chris Ross among the growing number of PBA personnel who pooled their resources to augment the lost income of league staff owing to the present worldwide pandemic.

"To all the game day employees, we're all in this together," added Perez, who also thanked the PBA brotherhood for stepping up.

Likewise, the act is Perez's way of giving back to the game and the people who loves it especially following a rookie season that saw him become the next important star in the league.

"Blessing sa career ko ito, resulta ito lahat ng hardwork," said Perez, who also made it to the All-Defensive team as a rookie, the first to do so since Ryan Reyes in 2008 while with Sta. Lucia.

"Kaya ibibigay ko talaga para sa basketball kasi ito yung bumubuhay sa akin."(RG)
