ALEX Cabagnot's latest achievement calls for a celebration.
But for the San Miguel superstar guard, this is not the right time to party. At the moment his focus is confined to helping the Beermen win as many games in the eliminations of the PBA Philippine Cup.
And that's exactly what he did Sunday as SMB rolled to its second straight victory with a 113-92 romp over defending Governors' Cup champion Magnolia in a rematch of last season' Philippine Cup Finals.
Cabagnot finished with 11 points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals that moved him past NLEX Road Warriors' Cyrus Baguio at number 10 in the league's all-time steal leaders.
"We're 4-3 still ... I'll probably celebrate about it (milestone) later," offered Cabagnot, who also tied 1980 league Most Valuable Player Philip Cezar at eighth spot in the all-time assists leaders list. Both have 3,130 career assists.

"I've never imagined when I started that I'll get to this," said Cabagnot, the second overall pick by the Sta. Lucia Realtors in the 2005 Draft.
"I'm just trying to make my mom and dad proud every game."
Still, his priority is to help the Beermen become better and hopefully, finish the elims in the top two spot. .
"We're still trying to get some momentum. We have a month off, our next game is on March 8. That can expedite the process of getting chemistry, consistency," he said.
Oh yes, he's glad of his latest achievement. (JB)
