OKINAWA - Anyang KGC of Korea gave San Miguel Beer the boot in the East Asia Super League Champions Week via a lopsided 142-87 rout Saturday at the Okinawa Arena here.
Omari Spellman erupted for 53 big points spiked by 12 three-point shots while Filipino star Rhenz Abando netted 22 and Darryl Monroe posted a 15-17-14 triple double as the Korean side finished its Group A assignments with 2-0 and assured itself of a spot in the medal rounds.
On the other hand, the Beermen, who missed June Mar Fajardo as well as Chris Ross and Terrence Romeo to various injuries, lost a 55-pointer on the heels of a 96-68 beatdown from the Ryukyu Golden Kings in Thursday's opener.
SMB followed the TnT Tropang Giga to the exits in the five-day battle for regional supremacy and $250,000 winner's purse.
The Tropang Giga bowed out last Friday in Group B after dropping an 80-69, to another Korean side, Seoul SK Knights, for 0-2.

"Sobrang frustrating kasi sa short ng 40 minutes, nagbigay kami ng 142 points. We're not making our shots tapos sila talagang lahat ng tinitira pumapasok and ang depensa namin sobrang sama," rued Perez.
"Lack of effort at kakulangan na rin ng players, pero hindi siya excuse. Kailangang naming maging better as a team," he added.
With Spellman and Abando as spearhead, Anyang raced to an early 40-20 lead, from which Jorge Gallent's charges could not recover.
Thinking about quotient in breaking ties in the race for a finals stint and battle for third match, Spellman and Co. continued the pounding and went for as high a winning margin as possible.
