PHOENIX Super LPG opened its campaign in the Under-12 Division of the 2023 Batang PBA Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City on a bright note.
Jhory Bagtasos scored eight of his team-high 10 points in the second quarter while Xian Cyruz Salgado and Juan Rodrigo Mallabo fired six apiece as the Batang Fuel Masters who bested NorthPort, 48-30, in Pool D.
The Batang Pier stayed winless in two matches.
In another 12-Under match, Harry Mostar and Eric Francis Castro scored with 16 points apiece to power the Blackwater Red President to a 76-62 victory over debuting Converge.
Mostar scored 10 of his points in the third quarter as the Red President battled back from a 30-36 halftime deficit and took a 52-47 lead.

In the 14-Under division, Ginebra and Blackwater got back on track with lopsided victories over their respective rivals.
Ryle Santino Gimarangan poured 12 of his team-high 14 points in the first quarter while Mark Joseph Sanchez and Carl Anthony Songco had 10 each for the debuting Red President, who routed the Batang Meralco Bolts (1-1), 100-62.
Ginebra, behind Emmanuel Pascual's 12 points, topped NorthPort, 77-59, for a 1-1 card in Group A of the 14-Under division. (JBU)
