SAN Miguel and Cavitex stayed unblemished in the 14-Under division even as Blackwater Red President assumed the 12-under lead in the 2023 Batang PBA Monday at the Ynares Sports Arena.
Francely Baldomino scored 17 points but it was the quintet of Jerico Prince Derillo, Julian Myles Villano, John Nielle Bueno, Joe Mart Gil Labrador and Yrros James Jongko, who provided the telling run as the Batang Beermen defeated Rain or Shine, 59-56.
The quintet put together a 17- 6 run in the the third quarter as the Batang Beermen broke a 26-all deadlock and stormed ahead to stay, 43-32.
The win gave SMB a 2-0 record in Group B of the 14-Under division.
Cavitex leaned on Chester Tulabut (9 points) and Jazz Fher Ping (7 points) to fashion out a 54-46 win over Meralco for it second win in as many games in Group of the 14-Under category.

In the 12-Under division,Eric Francis Castro poured 20 points to power the Blackwater Red President to a 61-48 rout of Phoenix.
Castro drew support from John Carlisle Buligan (15) and Harry Mostar (10) as the Red President improved to 3-1 record.
The Blackwater Bossing, meanwhile, also took care of business in Group C play of the 12-Under by clobbering Purefoods, 73-43.
Rafael Lago Cheng (17), Tristan Eric Gimao (13) and AJ Shawne Fedillaga (13) formed a lethal troika for the Batang Bossing, who notched their first win in three games. (JBU)
