BEAU Belga would now be more conscious with the way he acts and behaves while playing for Rain or Shine.
As one of the respected veterans in the team, the 33-year-old Belga said he should serve as an example especially with the Elasto Painters having five rookie players in their roster this season.
"Hindi ka puwedeng mag set ng example na masama. Marami kaming bagito, e," said the two-time PBA champion.
"Kapag nagsimula ka ng bad habits, baka sabihin ng mga yun 'ok lang gawin yung ganito kasi ginagawa naman ni Kuya Beau."
The roster of Rain or Shine rookies include Adrian Wong, Prince Rivero, Clint Doliguez, Vince Tolentino, and special draftee Mike Nieto, who's currently on loan to the Gilas Pilipinas program.

"So you need to set an example to them," added Belga.
But that doesn't mean, he'll no longer be the player known for his physical game, but rather he'll be more mindful of his actions and on-court behavior.
"Yung physicality ng laro hindi magbabago yun," vowed Belga.
Besides, paying fines before the Commissioner's Office at this time of the pandemic is not the wisest thing to do.
"Natuto na si Belga, ayaw nang mag-fine," he said with a big laugh. "May pandemic, bawal mag-fine."

Like the rest of the field, Belga and the Elasto Painters are all looking forward of finally starting the team workouts after being idle for more than five months following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Belga said the entire Rain or Shine team tested negative from the virus. (RG)
