SMART Clark Giga City -- BLACKWATER will have to put in the backburner its heartbreaking overtime loss to San Miguel Beer real fast.
The Elite return to action in the PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday against Meralco, hoping to stop their skid and get back on track in the bid for a quarterfinals berth.
The 1 p.m. match against the Bolts at the Angeles University Foundation gym (powered by Smart 5G) comes about 24 hours after the team fell to the five-time defending champion Beermen in overtime, 90-88, in the first morning game to be held in the 45-year history of the league.
The setback stretched the Elite's skid to three straight games, although at 2-4, they're still in the thick of the fight in the mad race for a playoffs berth.
But it's going to be a back-breaking schedule Blackwater faces as it plays five games in the next eight days of the eliminations which ends on Nov. 11.

Frontcourt threat Mac Belo missed the game against the Beermen with a back spasm but is expected to see action against the Bolts.
"He will play tomorrow (Wednesday)," said Blackwater in a short statement.
The 6-foot-4 Belo from Midsayap, Cotabato, averaged 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in five games with the Elite so far, numbers which could have helped them tide the win against San Miguel.
But with Belo expected to rejoin the team, Blackwater hopes to get back on track against a Meralco side that carries an even 3-3 record halfway into the eliminations.
The Bolts ironically, also lost to San Miguel in their last outing, 89-82. (RG)
