The Blackwater Elite gained an early boost to their preparation for the season-ending PBA Governors' Cup after ruling the 50th Pacific Caesar Basketball Pro Tournament Thusday night in Surabaya, Indonesia.
Blackwater claimed the crown with an 87-73 victory over BBM Viking Warriors in the final to complete a six-game sweep of the invitational tourney behind Gilas Pilipinas mainstay Allein Maliksi, Paul Zamar and import Henry Walker.
Also part of the winning Blackwater squad were JP Erram, John Pinto, Mike DiGregorio, Raymar Jose, Renz Palma, Roi Sumang, James Sena, Chris Javier, Mark Cruz, Mike Cortez, Raphael Banal and Mac Belo.
Coach Bong Ramos, who had multiple stints coaching teams in Indonesia, used the tournament in hopes of helping the team turn its fortunes following a disappointing 1-10 campaign in the Commissioner's Cup.
It will be the first of two international tournaments Blackwater will compete before the start of the third conference.
