Brownlee leads Gilas 12-man roster for SEAG golden mission

THE Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) officially named the final 12-man roster of the Philippine men's team to the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia led by naturalized player Justin Brownlee.

Also part of the team out to regain the gold in the biennial showpiece are CJ Perez, Chris Ross, Marcio Lassiter, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, Calvin Oftana, Christian Standhardinger, Chris Newsome, Arvin Tolentino, and collegiate players Mason Amos, Michael Philips, and Jerom Lastimosa.

Named as alternates were Aaron Black and Ben Philips, while Ross was selected team captain.

The roster was bared shortly after Gilas Pilipinas arrived in Phnom Penh early Sunday morning.

Ross said the Filipinos are ready for the tough challenge ahead despite the opposition improving by leaps and bounds throughout the years.

"The goal is to win the gold. We've been really working hard this past two and a half weeks, building team chemistry, building camaraderie. Getting used to each other," said the veteran guard.

"We like our chances. But we know that these teams aren't just gonna lay down. A lot of teams are beefing up their teams," Ross added. "But all the guys are ready for the challenge. We can't wait to get started."
